I've visited Coban Kapas Biru waterfall on 29 September 2019 during my Bromo Photography Escapade 2019 trip, with 9 participants. From the carpark area, we had to descend down a cliff to reach the waterfall, which took us almost 1 hour. At one point, there was even an almost vertical metal stepladder which only enable one person to go down and up at any one time. We came across a small paddy field upon reaching the foothill, plus crossing a river on bamboo bridge, only to come across this beautiful waterfall. If you are planning to go there, please prepare yourself with good trekking shoes and proper clothing. There is a porter service if you don't want to carry your gears while trekking down and up the cliff. It surely is not for the faint-hearted! Thanks! I did some birding photography at a location in Kuala Lumpur and this time around, I was grateful to have captured the Blue-eared kingfisher (Alcedo meniting) in the wild. There's a small drain where fish are plentiful to feast this exotic bird. I was accompanied by master Aman Pix and brother Zarizal Rosli, who had guided me to photograph the kingfisher. I used SONY a7RIII with the SEL100400GM and SEL14TC, at cropped mode (18MP). Here are some fo the images captured during this outing. Today marks the deadline for entries for my trip to Bromo. This may well be my last trip there and I've put in place some great photography experience the participants will not forget. To date, I've secured entries from 9 participants and we will be flying off to Surabaya on 26.09.2019 morning. I was pleased to receive some sponsorship from Studio Zaloon for participants to the trip. Final preparations are on the way and I've already listed down what are the gears that I'll be bringing along for the trip. #sony #sonyalpha #sonymalaysia #studiozaloon #gmaster #a9 #a7RIII #a6400 #sel1635gm #sel24105g #sel24f14gm #sel100400gm #sel1224g #sel14tc #leephoto #leofoto #ls284C #ls324cex #nisi #nisiglobal #nisimalaysia #laowa #dji #mavic #thinktank

Leofoto Ranger LS-324CEXDuring this outing, I used the Leofoto Ranger LS-324CEX tripod. This tripod really comes in handy especially when shooting on an uneven ground surface. Thanks to the a built-in leveling base, getting my Leofoto BV-10 video head to be level is so easy, by adjusting the leveling knob. This tripod is really a game-changer since one doesn't need to purchase additional leveling base for one's tripod. It's one-of-a-kind and not present in tripods way more expensive than the LS-324CEX. The tripod should be available in Malaysia in one-month's time. Leofoto Ranger LS-324CEX carbon fibre tripod. SONY Malaysia hold their main event of the year, the Digital Imaging Experiance 2019, which marks the launch of SONY a7RIV fullframe camera together with the SONY a6100 and a6600 flagship APSC cameras. The event was held at Four Seasons Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, attended by SONY users from all over. I had the pleasure of having a chit chat with Mr. Takahiro Yamasaki, Sony Malaysia's Head of Marketing and Mr. Loo Kah Kit, Sony Malaysia Product Marketing of Digital Imaging. Mr. Chin Yoke Fee, owner of Studio Zaloon Alpha ProShop had arranged for a video interview of me on my experiance with the a7RIII and the new SONY a7RIV camera. #sony #sonymalaysia #alpha #emount #gmaster #a7RIV #a6100 #a6600
En. Mazlan Mohammad Jali had graciously hosted a lunch get-together at Kelab Shah Alam last weekend, attended by those involved in the booth during KLPF 2019. After lunch, we had a short discussion on the way forward for ASFON WP for KLPF 2020. Hope that what was discussed can be implemented for the betterment of ASFON WP. Bye!
I went to the Upper Bisa Wetlands in Precinct 16 Putrajaya to practise on bird-in-flight (BIF) and this time around, I used my SONY a7RIII with the SONY FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS and SONY FE 1.4x Teleconverter and all the images shared below were handheld. From the outcome of the shooting session, I can conclude that the tracking feature (although not real time tracking), works really well with the a7RIII. The main task of ensuring sharp images while tracking is to correctly get a lock on the subject. After that, the tracking will do its job just fine. As proof, here are some of the images shot handheld using the a7RIII. Name: Grey egret Scientific: Ardea cinerea Family: Ardeidae Gear: a7RIII + SEL100400GM + SEL14TC EXIF: 560mm, f/8, 1/2000, ISO 1600, handheld. Name: Great white egret Scientific: Ardea alba Family: Ardeidae Gear: a7RIII + SEL100400GM + SEL14TC EXIF: 560mm, f/8, 1/4000, ISO 1600, handheld. Name: White-throated kingfisher Scientific: Halcyon smyrnensis Family: Alcedinidae Gear: a7RIII + SEL100400GM + SEL14TC EXIF: 560mm, f/8, 1/500, ISO 1600, handheld. #sony #sonymalaysia #alpha #emount #gmaster #a7RIII #SEL100400GM #SEL14TC
