“The trip to Bromo should be in everyone bucket list and as for me, it has been there since 2005 when I first step in Malang with the majestic view of Mount Bromo. It was timely when Nur Ismail advertised this photography expedition to Bromo which is something not to be missed. Prior to the trip, he briefed us well on what to expect during the trip, right from the type of lenses, clothing attire and all photography equipment that we should bring such as tripods , filters, slow shutter release, etc.
Having been there for so many times himself, he made an excellent choice of hotel in Bromo which is right in front of Mount Bromo. Each of the photography location chosen was also great and a novice photographer like me had the opportunity to try and explore different photography techniques and skills. Thanks to Tugio our guide in Bromo who has a wealth of knowledge in identifying the right location and moment in photography even though he does not own any DSLR camera himself. The journey to Bromo is just like a journey to the past, with the unique transportation by either Toyota Land Cruiser or horse riding.
The team participated in the trip was also very helpful and friendly where everyone kept sharing photography tips and tricks along the way. I felt that we are just like one big family who has one common interest which is photography. In this trip, I have learned how to locate and shoot a milky way and also time-lapse which is something new that I have been longing to learn. Due to the schedule was tight, I felt there are still a lot more that I did not capture and explore. Even 5 days is not enough. I would definitely love to go there again and capture all the beautiful moments in Mount Bromo.

"This is indeed an adventure of a lifetime (28.08.2016 - 09.09.2016) made possible by the gentleman, En Nur Ismail who in no small measure, single handedly and meticulously planned all aspects of the trip which included scouting the Island beforehand to the last flight back. He promoted and convinced myself and 6 others to be away from family and work for almost 2 straight weeks which was a feat in itself. He did the detailed information pack and itinerary which comprehensively covered from places to purchase halal meat, winter apparels, insect repellent, knee-high boots, to DOs and DON'Ts and other useful tips when dealing the Immigration among others. He also communicated continuously with the team which undoubtedly contributed to the smooth-sailing of the trip. While the adventure is carefully planned, the itinerary was flexible enough to allow for individual choices and unexpected events which did actually happen. He also generously shared his photography knowledge which I truly appreciated.
This short piece is written a number of years after, but the memory still is as vivid and fun, and fondly cherished which is indeed a testimony to En Nur Ismail’s passion for photography and his dedication to high quality deliverable.

“It was a good experience . I have to thank Vijay for convincing me to go to this Bromo photography expedition of sorts . I signed up with no digital camera experience , nor even a camera in hand. Bought myself good beginner’s camera as I know , I have deep interest in photography except that I have not had the time and opportunity earlier on.

Alhamdulillah... I had the opportunity to join the Photo trip to Bromo on 12.04.2018-16.04.2018. Together with my friends, Nur Ismail (Captain and Organiser), Warnaiman Azizi (Great friend an teacher), Din Mohd Yaman, Ahmad Shukri Mahusin, Dr Shaharudin Abdullah, Syed Mohd Radhi, Chua Chee Eam and Shaari Mat Saod. we had an unforgettable trip. The time was almost perfect and we managed to captured almost everything including milky ways and Carpet Clouds. Congratulations to my buddy Nur Ismail and also to Local Guide Tugio Trail for the wonderful experience.
